Mark Farrar, Chief Executive

Mark Farrar took over as Chief Executive of CITB-ConstructionSkills in September 2008.

Mark was previously Corporate Services Director within ConstructionSkills.  In this role, he was accountable for managing the CITB-ConstructionSkills Grant and Levy system as well as other support services functions. 

Following an early career in the Royal Navy, Mark trained as a Chartered Accountant before moving into the Financial Services Sector where he held senior positions in Barclays Bank and Norwich Union.

In 2000 he moved to Cefas, a Government owned science and environmental research body, where he was promoted to Chief Executive and lead a major restructuring in 2004.

Mark is also a Trustee of the Buildings Research Establishment, a Board member of WISE (Women into Science, Engineering and Construction) and a member of the Public Sector Advisory Board within the ICAEW.
