National Working Groups (NWGs)

The role of the National Working Groups (NWGs) is to establish and update construction NVQs and SVQs. They consider and make recommendations to the S&QVG on proposals for N/SVQ awards, the content, standards of competence and associated performance criteria, assessment guidance and level of awards for accreditation or re-accreditation by QCA or SQA.

Any other matters relating to N/SVQs referred to the NWG by S&QVG are also considered and the existing standards and qualifications are reviewed to ensure they are at the appropriate level and meet industry requirements.

NWGs identify and monitor the arrangements of other Lead and Awarding Bodies involved in the NWG occupation and report any relevant development aspects to S&QVG.
