Innovative Methods of Construction (IMC)

IMC incorporates innovative building methods used in:

  • constructing the structure and fabric of a building
  • renewable technologies
  • intelligent building technologies.

IMC can assist in substantially reducing energy costs and carbon emissions, whilst producing a high Code Level, under the Government’s new ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’ methodology.

These new technologies can carry risk and there is a need for specifiers and contractors to understand the capabilities of manufacturer’ and suppliers’ of IMC.

This IMC directory will enable buyers of these new technologies to make the right decisions when selecting them and the answer the following:

  • How much will this cost?
  • What capacity do manufacturers have to deliver?
  • How can the system IMC be installed?
  • What is the performance of the products and systems?
