Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Monitor 008-12
Wales area
£23,883 to £30,800 + car allowance + mobile working allowance + final salary pension scheme

We are looking for a confident, self-motivated individual to join our regional Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) team to cover Wales. The largest and most highly recognised card scheme in the plant industry, CPCS proves that workers are qualified, competent and safe by testing operating skills and health and safety awareness.
The primary role of the successful applicant will be to monitor/audit the activities associated with CPCS, carrying out checks of accredited CPCS Test Centres and CPCS Testers to ensure that they maintain performance levels and adhere to CPCS rules and standards. Your written skills will be useful in the preparation of detailed reports and documentation.
To be successful, you will need to have an understanding of the construction industry gained from your plant training or testing background; you will also need to be trained as an Auditor (or equivalent) and possess, or be willing to work towards, a CPCS Tester Card and Internal Verifier Unit V1 of Competence. A working knowledge of auditing and verification standards is essential; as is a PMSTS (Plant Managers Safety Training Scheme) Certificate (or equivalent), although this can be obtained on the job.
Self-motivated with good IT and administration skills, your sound communication and persuasion skills will be put to good use when you provide advice and guidance to customers, and support to colleagues. For this independent role, you will need to demonstrate your adaptability and initiative, and be effective in managing your time and working to targets. The flexibility to travel extensively locally, as well as nationally when required is essential; accepting that some weekend work, early starts and late finishes will be necessary.
In return, we offer excellent training and prospects, as well as an attractive salary and benefits package including final salary pension scheme.
