A27 - CIOB Modules

This grant is available for the completion of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) modules on a day-release or half-day and evening bases, but not for evening attendance only.

Completion of each 30 hour module by day-release or half day and evening attendance only.
The following CIOB qualifications attract grant:
- Certificate in Site Supervisory Studies (CSSS) - six modules.
- Certificate in Site Management (CSM) - seven modules.
- Diploma in Site Management (DSM) - a further seven modules on top of the CSM qualification.

What achievements are not supported?
Modules completed by evening only attendance (as the Training and Development Plan route B102 supports this training).
Qualifications achieved through the DMX route.
If the Site Safety Plus Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is used as an exemption to the CIOB CSM/DSM Health and Safety Module, grant cannot be claimed for this module.
What is the status of trainees supported?
Employed trainees in construction-related occupations.
What is the status of trainees not supported?
Labour-only sub-contractors and agency staff.
Employees in non-construction related occupations.
How much is the grant?
£250 for the completion of each module.
You will receive an additional 25% supplementary payment automatically if you are eligible.
This rate may be reduced if sufficient Levy funding is not available. This is only likely to take effect in exceptional circumstances.
How do I claim?
Download a GC1 claim form or contact your local ConstructionSkills office for a copy.
When you have completed a CIOB module send your claim form to the CITB-ConstructionSkills Levy & Grant Department, Bircham Newton, Norfolk, PE31 6RH.
What else do I need to submit?
We may require written evidence to verify claims. When submitting your claim form please attach a copy of your certificate to your application. However if this evidence is not available at the time of claiming do not miss the deadline. Send in your claim and we will then contact you for evidence at a later stage.
Is there a closing date?
Your claim must be received by the CITB-ConstructionSkills Levy & Grant Department no later than 31st October 2009. Claims received after this date will be rejected.
What else might I be able to claim?
If your trainee completes CIOB modules by attending evening classes only grant support is available through the Training and Development Plan route (B101/102).
