In a bid to help construction firms stay safe and productive during the downturn, ConstructionSkills has launched a set of money-saving product bundles.

Bringing together essential guides, tools and CDs into handy sets, the bundles focus on key areas of Health and Safety, and help firms to stay ahead of the game and on the right side of the law.

The bundles, including ‘Repair and Refurbishment’, ‘Think Green’ and ‘Stay Safe, Stay Legal’, offer up to 60% off the list price of the separate products.

Alan Bramley runs a health and safety consultancy business on the Isle of Wight and is already benefiting from the Construction Site Safety bundle he bought recently: “I needed a new copy of GE700 as it has been updated this year, and with the ‘Stay Safe, Stay Legal’ pack, I was able to get three other useful guides for only £50 extra. I had recently taken on two key clients, SB Electrical (IOW) Ltd and Crown Park Ltd, both based locally, and key to winning those contracts was the fact that I have demonstrable, accredited and up-to-date knowledge of training approaches and current legislation.

“But in order to service these clients, and win others in the future, I have to ensure that I continue to upskill and understand important changes to legislation, and this is where the ConstructionSkills bundles come in – they provide the information that I need.

Alan concludes: “I’m having to take great care with finances at the moment, as I’m sure loads of companies are, but I can’t afford not to invest in key materials and training; it’s a difficult market and I fully intend to stay competitive”.

Kevin Fear, Head of Health, Safety and Environment, ConstructionSkills is encouraging more companies to take advantage of this offer:

“More and more contracts are going to the businesses that can prove they comply with health, safety and environmental legislation. Our new bundle packs can help by saving money, saving time and saving you from missing out on new opportunities – all by making health and safety a top priority. We know business is tough, but looking after your team can help you to look after your company.

Companies should visit www.cskills.org/publications or call 0300 944 4044 to find out more or order these and many other essential products.

All offers expire on 30th September 2009
