Vocational Qualification Development/Approval

Approval of a vocational qualification is part of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) accreditation process and CITB-ConstructionSkills is responsible for approving all vocational qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that fall within the CITB-ConstructionSkills’ footprint.

A vocational qualification development/approval procedure has been developed which outlines the processes CITB-ConstructionSkills and Awarding Organisations should follow.  For an overview of the process please see the qualification development early dialogue/approval process flow chart.

Through this process CITB-ConstructionSkills will ensure qualifications are developed that suit the needs of the sector and meet the requirements of the Construction Qualification Strategy and Action Plan.
