What are CITB-ConstructionSkills doing?

CITB-ConstructionSkills are producing a range of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect products and services to help you support your company. These will be released during 2012.

Initially, the National Construction College are commencing with two new courses on ‘Fairness, Inclusion and Respect’ which are available to book via the NCC online booking system.

We will be continually updating this page with information for employers and employees within the construction industry.

Toolbox Talks

CITB-ConstructionSkills have developed a short series of four toolbox talks to help you to train your staff in different aspects of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect. The toolbox talks are available here for you to download and use with your staff as required:

  • Fairness, Inclusion and Respect - Acceptable Language considers the language used in the work place, what is inappropriate and disrespectful and how this relates to fairness, inclusion and respect.

  • Fairness, Inclusion and Respect - Health, Work and Wellbeing raises awareness of the legal responsibilities of employers and employees regarding disability and health. It raises awareness of common health problems and supportive behaviours and actions to promote wellbeing at work.

  • Fairness, Inclusion and Respect – Respect details what respect in the workplace means within the construction industry in order to develop a more productive and healthy environment free from bullying and harassment.

  • Fairness, Inclusion and Respect – Your Responsibilities explains the responsibilities and rights of employers and employees in reference to fairness, inclusion and respect.

  • Fairness, Inclusion and Respect – Supporting Information. This document gives additional background information to support the toolbox talks. It is a reference document to help deliverers understand the issues being discussed and help answer any questions which may arise. It gives more information on the Equality Act 2010, some definitions and examples to explain this new legislation.
