Fire Safety

Recent legislation has delivered a fundamental change in the management of fire risk in the workplace. It is now the responsibility of employers to carry out their own fire risk assessments. We are working with the Fire Protection Association (FPA) to bring you a selection of construction specific products designed to help fire, security and safety professionals to achieve and maintain the very highest standards of fire safety management. The FPA, formed in 1946, is the UK’s national fire safety organisation and it works to identify and draw attention to the dangers of fire and the means by which the potential for loss is kept to a minimum.

Fire Prevention on Construction Sites – Joint Code of Practice and Checklist 8th edition

Construction-Site-Fire-Prevention-Checklist.jpg

This is a combined publication bringing together the Joint Code of Practice with the accompanying checklist.
Widely recognised and highly regarded, the document applies to activities carried out prior to and during the procurement, construction and design process. It is commonly referred to in insurance contracts and is recognised as 'best practice'.

The checklist converts the Joint Code into a series of questions which should be asked to establish whether or not fire precautions on a site are comprehensive and adequate. The checklist works on a tick-box principle and contains space for notes and comments.

In the course of time, the checklist can present a complete fire precautions history of a construction site or building under refurbishment. This updated checklist is designed to be used in conjunction with the Joint Code of Practice 8th edition.Order your copy now: Manual
