This online version of Toolbox talks is user-friendly and handy for instant access through our online portal, GOLD (Gateway to online learning and development). The 2013 edition has been refreshed and updated to improve the user's experience, whilst retaining the core functionality. The enhanced design features easy-to-use and understand improved navigation controls and includes a full search facility. Subscription is for full access for 12 months, and you will always have access to the most up-to-date edition.
It now also contains access to films of three toolbox talks being delivered by site personnel on a live site and a short product demonstration film on how to use GT 700. Watching these toolbox talks being prepared and delivered in different styles will help supervisors to gain the confidence they need to prepare and deliver their own talks.
Toolbox talks are an important method of both delivering advice on matters of health, safety and the environment, and to stimulate discussions, to obtain feedback, thus helping to maintain and improve standards.
It helps trainers who are responsible for delivering toolbox talks courses for managers, who in turn will be delivering toolbox talks to operatives on site. It has been designed to assist supervisors at all levels to prepare and deliver effective toolbox talks on building and construction sites, along with some useful hints and tips.
The content has been reviewed and updated. Also included is a briefing record that can be copied, along with a log to record the toolbox talks you have delivered and a feedback form. It also contains additional supporting photographs and icons to help emphasise key points.
It has been designed to follow the same structure and chapter layout as Site supervision simplified (GE 706), which means it is now quicker and easier for a supervisor to cross-reference and prepare for a toolbox talk.
GT 700 and the supporting GE 706, are the official reference materials for CITB-ConstructionSkills' Site Safety Plus Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), a two-day course for first line managers and supervisors.
