Each year the construction industry needs thousands of new recruits – and we want them to be the very best so that the industry has the brightest future.
The UK’s construction industry is an exciting place to work with huge opportunities for anyone with ambition.
What is a Construction Ambassador?
Construction ambassadors are people who already work in the industry.
The most important thing is to be able to inspire young people and help them see that a career in construction has potential for them.
Construction ambassadors are passionate about their work and happy to share their experiences with others. They don’t have to come from any particular background; they could be a civil engineer, architect, construction manager or joiner. They may have entered as a graduate, worked their way up through the ranks, or be a talented trades person.
What does a Construction Ambassador do?
Construction ambassadors receive training, which is free to inscope companies. Following training, involvement varies, including
attending career events
arranging site visits
delivering workshops and career presentations
answering questions about the industry.
Being a construction ambassador also provides the opportunity to be involved with the development and delivery of qualifications such as the Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment and the Young Apprenticeship Programme, as well as other activities with secondary and post 16 students.
Typically, construction ambassadors are involved with three or four events a year.
