What do you do day-to-day?
Every day is different! I have the opportunity to work on a vast variety of projects being on site and watching it all happen is very rewarding. Generally, I am responsible for administration of the contract, managing the budget, subcontracting accounts and everything in between.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
If you're looking for a career that's challenging, with the opportunity for a wide variety of work and with great prospects, this may be for you!

Why did you choose this career?
The construction industry looked like a challenge and my decision to specialise in Civil Engineering was based on the desire to be involved in high profile projects. The long term prospects and rewards looked good and a Quantity Surveying degree covers a wide subject base from Business Studies and Law to Material Technology so it's a good base for a wide variety of careers.

What are the good bits about your job?
Watching our building/structure take shape and of course making money!
