What degree are you studying?
I am at Nottingham University doing Civil Engineering. At the end of my course I will come out with a M.Eng in Civil Engineering and I hopefully will be working in the construction industry as a Civil Engineer. I chose Civil Engineering because it fitted in strongly with my A-Level subjects.

Why did you apply to be an inspire scholar?
The money will be a great help. There are strong links with a Civil Engineering firm and also the vacation work will give me a good insight into Civil Engineering in the real world.

Why are you attracted to a career in construction?
The things that attracted me to the construction industry are the team work and the diversity of the industry, you can be outside looking at buildings or in the office drawing up plans. My favourite building in the UK is the Sage Music Centre in Newcastle because of the way Architects have drawn quite an ornate plan and Engineers have made it structurally possible.
