Tradeston Bridge, Glasgow

The construction of this landmark bridge is a key element of the impressive Clyde Waterfront Regeneration Scheme, a 15 year plan transforming an 8 mile stretch along the river.Following a design competition, Glasgow City Council chose BAM Nuttall Ltd. to deliver the bridge with the design provided by Halcrow Group Ltd.

The £3.65m bridge will provide pedestrian and cycle traffic with an improved route across the river whilst forming a focal point to the enhanced riverside public areas and contributing to the regeneration of the Tradeston area.
                                                                
The project team will use a barge mounted crane to lower the tubular piles into the middle of the river, before constructing the concrete substructure and then the steel bridge on the top... all this in a tight, city centre site!
