Adults into the Construction Industry

Louise Adamson

Whether you are looking to enter the construction industry for the first time or return after a break, the following information will help to get you started.

There are many different routes to enter the industry accessible at any age. You may want to get qualifications like certificates, diplomas or a  degree, or you may prefer to get your qualifications on-site so you can earn, learn and work at the same time.

However, if you are re-entering the industry you’ll need to obtain a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card or a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) before starting work on-site. For more information visit our card scheme pages

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us at iag.recruitmentandcareers@cskills.org or call us on 0300 456 5008 to be put in touch with a local Adviser.
