Apprenticeships

apprentice

An apprenticeship is the best way to get into a craft construction trade. It enables you to learn, work, earn and get qualified all at the same time, by combining college learning with on-site experience.

ConstructionSkills is the leading apprenticeships provider, with:

  • 8,500 apprentices placed with employers in 2007
  • Over 300 staff dedicated to supporting apprentices and employers
  • training available nationally through a network of over 160 colleges
  • one of the highest completion rates in the sector with over 81% of apprentices completing their full framework (which is 10% higher than the national average)

We also make the apprenticeships process as simple as possible by assigning one of our advisors to support both you and your employer. They will:

  • arrange training for you at a local college
  • help your employer claim grants (they could get up to £9,000 over a three year apprenticeship)
  • advise you on expenses available to cover any lodgings or travel costs
  • help you with any problems you have during your apprenticeship
