INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme


Anyone thinking of starting a Construction related degree course in Autumn 2008 can apply for a ConstructionSkills INSPIRE Scholarship, which offers:

  • Up to £9,000 grant to support you during your university course
  • A 10-week work placement between the first and second year of university with matched employer
  • Entrance to a competition in your second year that could net you another £1,000
  • The opportunity to leave university with an outstanding and much sought after degree, and almost no debt
  • A good chance of a job with your employer when you leave university
  • INSPIRE scholarships are available for bright, motivated and ambitious students, who show the potential to succeed in the construction industry.
  • Am I eligible? Applicants must be:
  • Starting a full-time, construction-related degree course 
  • Starting the first year of their very first degree course
    predicted / in possession of 2Bs and a C minimum at A-level or equivalent (280 UCAS points)
  • A UK Citizen

Sponsoring employers pay scholars directly on an annual basis. This comprises both the employer contribution and the ConstructionSkills match funding (between £750-1500 each). As an INSPIRE scholar you could receive a total amount of between £1500-3000 per annum.
