Aims

This course provides an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activites.

Content

Successful candidates will gain knowledge and skills in:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant regulations
  • Specific site issues, which include such topics as Work at Height
  • Tool Box Talks
  • Control of subcontractors
  • Health issues

Candidates will gain qualification/certification in:

  • ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus certificate.

    Training Methods

    This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations. Candidates will be continuously assessed through individual and group exercises and will have to complete a multiple-choice test.
